~He didnt notice that the lights had changed~ 2005-12-08 6:12 p.m.

Leaving this world is just as important as living in it... and the moments before are a spin cycle for life... of our accomplishments... of memory and regret.

It's in rememberance that we appreciate when all of that met head to head - when we honour it... for the people we loved... for the people who loved us and for those who've changed the world...

It's a sad day... the man who made peace popular was killed... for nothing more than being himself.

He was a great man for his honesty... for his spirit... for never holding back... he made love a cult hit... he created brotherhood... he believed in freedom, and serenity and opportunity... but not just for himself and not just within his fame, but for everyone... in all countries, of all cultures and faiths... He spoke of goodwill better than any congregation ever could... but he wasn't a saint and he knew it.

People forget why he was so important... they're just tired of hearing about his death today... but take time and think of the things he could he have done for us if he'd stayed living... and think then, what it is we lost.

I was in the shower this morning when the sense of loss hit me... I called to Blair "Thinking of his dying, just makes me so sad..."

I meant dying coldly and cruel on his doorstep... Bullets in his back... from a man who now has everything he ever wanted. He deserved a death that honoured his life... but instead he got nothing.

He was cheated... the world was cheated...

So what would have John Lennon have done had he not been killed?

He would have fought for peace until he couldn't anymore... moved to Canada and died of old age.
