Sometimes when I'm home alone I paint my eyes in coal and sunlight... the glow of hot pink and golds... meets the stark of ash around my lids... meets the chocolate of my irises and the snow that surrounds them. My lashes welcome sight and life... long... inviting... dancing like butterflies in a warm breeze.

Sometimes when I'm alone I paint my face cotton-white... and my cheeks into apples.... A transformation from porcelin to lava... I am a different girl... a different shape... a different form.

I'm always alone... I'm always different... and you'll never know its truth or not...

That is the beauty of coal and sunlight... one reflects... the other absorbs.
